Season One

Lorretta Switt was busy with 'Mash' so Meg Foster steps into Chris Cagney's shoes; the second of three woman to play the character. It's a solid start to what would be a great series.

Season Two

Sharon Gless takes a walk as Cagney, creating the pair that would run the rest of the series. Some all-time favorite episodes appeared like Daly's Emmy nod for Burn Out and The Grandest Jewel Thief of Them All.

Season Three

CBS canceled it AGAIN, but rallys and a letter writing campaign changed the networks' mind. Although this was the 'shortest' season, it produced some of the greatest eps like Daly's Emmy winning "Baby Broker" and "Choices".

Season Four

The series finds it's footing and takes off running to treat viewers to everything from high drama to delightful comedy. It's the season of episodes like Heat, An Unusual Occurrence, Two Grand and Daly's tour de force Who Said It's Fair.

Season Five

Gless gets her first of two well deserved Emmy's for the The Gimp while the season is filled again with a mix of comedy / tragedy. Standout eps include Entrapment, The Lottery, The Clinic, Extradition, and Karlen's Emmy winner Mothers and Sons.

Season Six

This season is a bit heavier on the drama side with unforgetable eps like Gless's masterful Emmy Winner Turn, Turn, Turn. However, there are still some lighter eps, like the 100th ep, Special Treatment, where Mary Beth is arrest.

Season Seven

The final season of Cagney and Lacey once more is drama-filled with a mix of comedy here and there with eps such as Greed, the series finale A Fair Shake and Daly's Emmy Winner Friendly Fire.
